Care jobs have come under focus after a report by Ofsted revealed that there is too little consistency when it comes to young adults in care having access to mental health support.The director of development for social care at the agency, John Goldup, has spoken out on the issue, urging people in care jobs at local and national levels to take action.Commenting on what he opined was the crux of the issue, Mr Goldup noted that the stigmatisation of mental problems was ingrained in "a whole range of social and cultural factions"."In terms of the effect [that it has] even when you get access to services, even when treatment is available, young people can fail to take it up because of the stigma that is attached to it," he added.The Ofsted survey of 27 children's homes in eight local authorities revealed that access to mental health treatment oscillated between good and non-existent.People Unlimited are specialists in recruitment for Care Jobs
