Volunteers join those in charity jobs to address homelessness -Charity job News

Those in charity jobs will team up with volunteers to help provide crucial services to homeless people this Christmas.
Some 2,000 homeless and vulnerable people in London will be provided with food thanks to nine temporary centres set up in the capital by Crisis, reports the BBC.
Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett is supporting the initiative by cooking a meal of chilli con carne for around 200 rough sleepers.
Crisis relies on more than 8,000 volunteers to help those working in charity jobs at the organisation to support homeless people.
Earlier this month, the charity called on more help to run the temporary centres in London as well as assist at several residential centres in the capital and at a day centre in Stratford.
Charity CEO Leslie Morphy said the volunteers are crucial to the success of Crisis' Christmas efforts, as those working in charity jobs for the organisation cannot do it all on their own.
"[The volunteers] provide invaluable companionship and services to some of society's most vulnerable people, but also gain much from the experience in return," she added.
