David is the founder and major shareholder of People Unlimited. Having established the business in 1990 as Charity People, he's still busy trying to change the world 20 years later.

A passionate believer that working with 'value led' organisations is the best job in the world, he's determined to raise the profile of the sector as a great place for talented and committed individuals.

David entertains the masses (or anyone visiting his home) by playing saxophone and piano badly...

Helen registered with People Unlimited as a candidate in 2006 but was so taken by the place she came to work with us instead! She is the first point of contact for all our visitors and an ‘honorary’ member of the temps team so if you come to temp with us you will probably get to know her quite well.

Helen has quite a history with charities and the not-for-profit sector, having worked and volunteered with a number of charities since 1999.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer Helen has also been known to roam the streets of London in a pink spangly bra. Of course, this is as a participant of Breakthough Breast Cancer's Moonwalk, which she has just completed her 4th one! Read more about Helen’s work with Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Sarah has an impressive 10 year track record of executive recruitment at chief executive and board level within the charity sector. Prior to this she held a number of senior  fundraising positions with UK based 'umbrella' charities.

Her previous career in corporate sales and marketing and her continued work as a patient advocate for the breast cancer lobby gives her excellent access to both public and corporate sector contacts.

With a particular interest in effective charity governance, Sarah has recently completed a voluntary sector master's degree (MVA). Sarah currently serves as a trustee for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and as a governor for the Godolphin & Latymer School.

Alisdair comes to us with 17 years of relevant work experience and is responsible for bringing in new business and identifying ways to develop existing relationships, especially with major organisations.

Alisdair was drawn to joining People Unlimited as we are radically different from all other consultancies that cover the NFP, Renewables and Care Sectors.

Alisdair likes to exercise his vocal muscles not only in the office but by singing with the London Gay Men’s Chorus.

Julian joined the team at People Unlimited in 2001, making him our longest serving consultant. He offers a wealth of recruitment experience to small and large organisations alike.

A specialist in Professional Membership Bodies, Julian understands the nuances of terminology and can drill down to the core of a job specification to find you the perfect member of staff or the career that best suits your interests and passions.

Outside of work, Julian's greatest passions are animal welfare and environmental charities but he doesn't just stay in blighty to fight the cause, you could stumble across him in the jungles of Costa Rica saving the local wildlife...

Bianca Fernau

Bianca recently joined the People Unlimited team as a recruitment consultant specialising in fundraising, marketing and communications jobs.

Biance previously worked for three years as a Fundraising Consultant, and successfully set up her own division, managing 11 staff in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia.

She enjoys working at People Unlimited because of the great team and our pioneering spirit.

Bianca is a fan of her native German football team, mountain hiking and travelling.

LJ is an energetic and helpful consultant, who won our Consultant of the Year 2009. Working on temporary and interim roles, LJ will go out of her way to help both clients and candidates across the charity and NFP sector.

LJ currently volunteers for Beatbullying as a Senior CyberMentor and manages our new V Temps initiative.

Something of a globe trekker, LJ has travelled solo around the world through Asia, Australia and South America but has also enjoys locales closer to home, donning wellies to go camping at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Sara James

Sara specialises placing temps and contractors in membership bodies, learned societies, animal, environmental and religious charities. She has over 10 years recruitment experience.

Sara enjoys working in the charity and NFP sector and helping candidates who have a passion for this area.  She loves the People Unlimited team. Particuarly Julie and Trevor who handle all the admin!

Sara has a comprehensive understanding of both sides of the temporary world, having also been a temp for People Unlimited. She worked at The Mentor Foundation, The Teaching Awards, St Mungos, Keyring, and the Royal College of Pathologists.  

Sara displays a keen wanderlust having lived in New Zealand and has also driven herself across India in a Cherokee jeep.  

Julie Garrity

Julie joined People Unlimited in 2007 as the Administrator for the Temporary Team. Before joining People Unlimited she worked on a number of Office Support roles including working as an Events Administrator for a large Health organisation.

Outside of work Julie is kept busy with her one year old daughter and she also enjoys reading and socialising.

Ade provides recruitment solutions that meet the needs of clients within charities, local authorities and housing associations. Working with talented candidates (directors, managers, qualified social workers, housing officers, support workers) to help them to further develop their career or find a new career path.

Ade has over 7 years recruitment experience in the housing and social care sector and enjoys working at People Unlimited because of the people, our ethos and our passion to be the best at what we do!

An avid Arsenal supporter, Ade took part in their charity event to raise money for the children at Great Ormond St. Hospital.

Ade is also a local celebrity, having had a sandwich named after him. So if you're after a panini filled with Moroccan lamb, cucumber, lettuce, cheese, ketchup, mustard, black pepper and a touch of love then just ask for the Ade Special!

Guy is responsible for setting up and developing the renewable energy recruitment desk. People Unlimited Renewable Energy (PURE) adds value to all stages of the supply chain of renewable energy projects.

Guy does this by supplying highly skilled individuals to any company involved in the financing, development, construction, asset management and operational management of renewable energy projects across the EMEA region.

Guy thinks People Unlimited is a great company to work for due to the immensely friendly and supportive team.

Guy enjoys motorcycling and also speaking in foreign languages, much to the confusion of his friends!

Deborah heads up our formidable events team, running some of the third sector's best known events and conferences. These include forum3, which is Europe’s largest careers and volunteering event, and Positive Change which is a series of seminars run in conjunction with 2 Way Development aimed at inspiring people to work with value-led organisations.

Deborah also helps clients to plan and deliver their own in-house conferences, AGMs and road shows.

When Deborah's done with organising events for the year she can be found soaking up the rays on a beach in the Caribbean...

Sara is part of the events team, liaising with exhibitors and offering them the best packages to suit their requirements.

Sara joined People Unlimited in 2009 and was drawn by the fabulous team that is People Unlimited, as well as a desire to work in the charity sector.

She brings with her an extensive background in Customer Service, Training and Development, having worked within the airline industry for over 14 years. Excellent service is a passion and prerequisite of Sara's and she will ensure that you have a 'first class' experience with us.

Sara has an excellent understanding and knowledge of client requirements and expectations, and has an infectious chuckle that rivals the likes of Sid James'!
